Paola, to the advent of the Norman ones, it was already rich of history. The origins of this country sank far his/her own roots in a past: "This place, Paola, boasts for his/her founder the King Enotrio, which founded Patycos, five centuries before the wars troianes, as which served the thin assignment to today are trentaquattro departed of it." This suburb came to new light in the moment in which the future Saint of the city was born. For his/her worth there was a rapids evolution but in that time, in that place as in many others, there were men to the search of a remote past, of lost truth or hidden from the time, that you/they could give their contribution to the human civilization, among myths and legends had been handing down for centuries to estrange from the forgetfulness of the missed knowledge. Ludovico was a skilled maritime dealer of Paola which inherited the job from his/her father. From generations by now, that was the work of his/her family. Tenacious man and determined, cultured and available with the people it loved the history and the geography and above all his/her earth, Calabria. He possessed a small number of boats, with which it dealt on the Calabrian coasts, Sicilians and tunisine, also arriving sometimes however in Greece, with which it warned a strong sense of union. Spent his/her life among the study, that formed him/it in the first years of his/her adolescence, near a monastery of Fuscaldo, near Paola, where religious were educated and studious of ancient texts of history, geography and Greek authors; subsequently undertaking the work of the family, close to his/her father Pietro Anthony Ruberto. He was respected man and esteemed and it taught to his/her child with big mastery the dangers of the sea but also the art of the commerce, the respect and the dialogue with the men of the crew. The father of Ludovico, was a man suffered the severe aspect, but only in appearance, in how much aware of the difficulty and binding job that you/he/she developed, through his/her trips you/he/she visited interesting places and you/he/she knew men of good culture, with which started sporadic contacts. The man, during the years, he/she succeeded in purchasing some manuscript of his/her interest that added in the modest library, of which it prepared, where interesting works were found however. Pietro Anthony Ruberto, didn't survive for a long time enough unfortunately, but you/he/she transmitted his/her affairs and his/her curiosity to his/her/their child. Ludovico was physician Giovanni Lucchini's friend, with which it shared the same ideas on many tied up aspects to the life and the civilization and on the possibility of a more ancient presence on the Earth from the man, in comparison to the declarations of the Sacred Writings. They were game thoughts for the epoch… The man was very esteemed in the country in how much the last possibilities of salvation considered him/it from the evil that the human being tormented, and he tried to do the possible one in that period where he/she anchors, the medical knowledges were scarce and the tools were rough. Ludovico often brought him in the house of Giovanni when it didn't travel. You/they could quietly discuss of history, geography, and of Greek authors, that the physician knew well enough, but their interest, was turned at that time to some geographical papers, that Ludovico could view and to bring itself from a trip back from Reggio Calabria. Those papers, call also Portolani, they represented the Mediterranean one with the coasts known from any sailor, but it was not note this to attract their deep curiosity, since on the papers you/they were drawn you islands and lines of coasts that there were not more… Both remained incuriositi and upset by such documents. They wondered as it was possible this. Who draw those papers? Did the author draw nonexistent earths for which motive? Many men however they affirmed that in the Mediterranean one, a lot of preceding generations theirs there were emerged earths, which were submerged or destroyed by violent earthquakes and volcanos, and in their time these didn't exist anymore and him as it tries that document it found again him among the hands. Ludovico I heard a lot of other voices, even more puzzling. During his/her trips, in fact, they were many the sailors that spoke to have had among the hands ancient maps, with earths and unknown confinements, over the Columns of Ercole, to them it turns, in many cases, copies of other more ancient nautical papers. That sailors narrated that already in passed times many men traveled there in sea of from the Columns of Ercole. Some were more detailed, since there was who narrated the history of some men, perhaps the last, belonging to a powerful sect that, after having found those maps, with immense and unknown earths, they ploughed the sea, and after being lands you, they settled you bringing them a rich treasure. Ludovico knew that this story alluded to the history of the templaris, condemned from the Church in Rome for heresy. Those voices circulated for a long time, but there were no certain tests. The dealer, thanks to Giovanni, it also knew the texts of Plato, and it came to knowledge of the stories, from him quoted in his/her works, that described an earth, Atlantide, submerged ago by the sea thousand of years for the anger of the gods, that lost the respect of the inhabitants, when these came to believe himself/herself/themselves superior in them. He wondered among itself: Were there perhaps, other earths it emerged over that mythical described by Plato? What was there of truth in the story of the philosopher? If the story had been invented from him, for which motive it did him/it? And if you/he/she had existed indeed? Could you/they exist therefore, other earths over the columns, unknown to the Christianity? These thoughts persecuted him/it for the whole life. He was spellbound from philosopher Plato's stories, where in the Timeo and subsequently in the Crizia, it narrated the history of Atlantide, that Crizia has heard from his/her grandfather, that in turn has learned her from Solone, famous statesman and Greek historian that in the 590 a.C. you/he/she had visited Egypt.
